Election Code Comes into Effect... Brake on New Schemes!
The article discusses the suspension of four newly launched schemes by the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana due to the election code of conduct. It highlights how the election schedule has delayed the implementation of the schemes, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, and ration card distribution.

Hyderabad: It is well known that the Revanth Reddy government in Telangana has launched four new schemes. On January 26, the CM announced their formal launch. These include the Indiramma Houses, Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atheemya Bharosa, and the issuance of ration cards. However, within just four days of their launch, these schemes have come to a halt. With the announcement of the election schedule for the three MLC seats in the state, Election Commission officials stated that, according to regulations, these schemes must be suspended. Opposition parties are alleging that the government launched these schemes as a tactic to win votes during the elections and that now, with the implementation of the election code, the schemes have been put on hold. There is also talk that, with elections occurring continuously throughout the year, the implementation of these schemes will likely be delayed.
In the wake of the election code, the financial assistance for the investment in cotton crops promised under the Rythu Bharosa scheme is likely to be delayed further. The sowing for the current season is already complete, but farmers have not yet received the investment support. In the past season, the government provided Rythu Bandhu support in the old format. For this season, the government had decided to provide Rs. 6,000 for investment, but now with the election code in place, there are doubts about whether Rythu Bharosa will continue. Even though three days have passed since the schemes were launched, money has only been deposited in a few accounts.
The Revanth Reddy government had announced that it would fulfill the poor people's dream of owning a house by granting Indiramma Houses. This was a promise made during the election campaign. However, the scheme has not been implemented for the past 14 months, leaving the poor waiting in anticipation. After surveys and village meetings, the government announced the launch of the scheme on January 26. However, now with the election code in place, the release of funds has been halted, leading to another setback for Indiramma Houses. It is believed that the scheme might not see any progress this year either. The situation for Indiramma Atheemya Bharosa and the issuance of new ration cards is also uncertain under the current circumstances.
There are no indications that the suspended schemes will be resumed this year. The election code for the MLC elections, which is currently in effect, will end in the first week of March. After that, there is a possibility of municipal and GHMC elections being held alongside the MLC elections. This could mean that the entire year will pass under the election code, and the implementation of new schemes this year seems unlikely.
