We are all sons of Mother India, there is no question of discrimination' Shivraj Singh Chouhan

New Delhi: On Tuesday, in the Lok Sabha, a Tamil Nadu MP had asked the Union Agriculture Ministry a question regarding the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. In response to this question, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, "I request the Tamil Nadu government that if any eligible beneficiary is deprived of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, then update their list on the portal. Their names will definitely be added. There are about 14 thousand such farmers in Tamil Nadu; the state government should investigate and send the list, I assure that there will not be a delay of even a day from here." Let us tell you that DMK MPs alleged that the central government is doing injustice to the farmers of Tamil Nadu and the payment is getting delayed.

At the same time, the Agriculture Minister clarified that the delay is happening on the part of the state government because the investigation of 14,000 farmers has not been completed yet.

Narrated the story of the absence of Tamil Nadu ministers

The Union Minister said with folded hands, “I myself have been to Tamil Nadu twice, once for the work of the Agriculture Department and once for the work of rural development. Now I am not making any allegations but on both occasions neither the Rural Development Minister nor the Agriculture Minister came to my meeting. I want to request that the Central Government is committed to giving benefits. We bow to the great people of Tamil Nadu, bow to the Tamil culture, bow to the Tamil language, we are all sons of Mother India, there is no question of discrimination. We will serve the people and farmers of Tamil Nadu with humility.”

He said, "We have taken several measures to ensure that every eligible farmer gets the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. We have developed PM Kisan Portal and Mobile App. Along with this, we have also launched 3 campaigns to connect eligible farmers. We will restart the fourth campaign from April 15 so that no eligible farmer is left out."

'PM Modi recognized the pain of small farmers'

Shivraj said, "Many times when small farmers needed money to fulfill their agricultural needs, they did not have money. They had to take even one or two thousand rupees on interest for fertilizers and seeds. Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognized this pain of small farmers and he decided that two thousand rupees each will be deposited in the account of all such farmers in three installments every year under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi'."

He said, there was a Prime Minister who used to say that if I send Rs 1, only 15 paise reaches but this is Modi ji's government. We decided that if 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each are sent under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi', then only Rs 6,000 will reach, no one can embezzle a single penny of this scheme. Therefore, through DBT, the entire amount reaches the farmers' account with a single click. Under 'PM Kisan Samman Nidhi', every eligible farmer gets the benefit of this scheme, for this, we run campaigns with the cooperation of the state governments to provide benefits to all the eligible beneficiaries. Even today, I want to request all the state governments that if there is still any eligible beneficiary left in their state, then they should immediately get online registration done, not a single eligible farmer will be left, money will be sent to everyone's account.
