The 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 is here — see who made the cut

Only 200 startups from thousands of applications made the cut for the 2026 Startup Battlefield 200. This annual, handpicked list showcases the most promising early-stage companies from around the world, spanning a wide range of industries including AI, climate, health, fintech, robotics, and consumer products.

The selected founders will exhibit at Disrupt 2026, taking place October 13–15 in San Francisco's Moscone West. Over the course of the event, they will get a chance to demo new technology, pitch in front of top global VCs, and compete for the iconic Disrupt Cup. The winner receives $100,000, equity-free.

Key Facts at a Glance

A Launchpad With a Proven Record

The Startup Battlefield has long been one of the most closely watched startup competitions in the technology industry. It is designed to give early-stage companies a public launch moment, connecting them with investors, media, and potential partners at a critical point in their journey. Past participants include companies that have grown into household names, such as Dropbox, Cloudflare, and Discord. Altogether, Startup Battlefield alumni have raised more than $32 billion and achieved 250 exits.

For the 2026 edition, organizers received applications from founders working across virtually every sector. The result is a geographically diverse and product-rich group of startups. Some are tackling climate change with new materials and cleaner energy systems. Others are reimagining how patients receive care, how businesses use data, or how people shop and connect online.

The selection process is deliberately broad. The 200 companies are not all building the same kind of product. Some are hard-tech ventures with deep scientific foundations, while others are software companies using AI to streamline everyday workflows. What they share is an early-stage profile, a clear point of view, and the ambition to build a category-defining company.

What Happens at Disrupt 2026

All 200 startups will have a presence in the Battlefield area at Disrupt 2026. Attendees can expect live demonstrations of never-before-seen technology throughout the two-and-a-half-day event. The program is structured to give each company maximum exposure, with dedicated time to meet investors, reporters, and potential customers.

A smaller group of finalists will advance to the main stage. These companies will pitch their businesses in front of top-tier investors and receive live feedback. The top 20 finalists will be revealed on the first day of Disrupt, October 13. From there, each finalist will get the chance to make their case for the grand prize: $100,000 in non-dilutive funding and the Disrupt Cup.

The competition portion of the event is only one part of the experience. Being selected for the Startup Battlefield 200 also gives founders access to a global community of operators and investors. Many past participants say the relationships formed during the event become just as valuable as the prize money. The coaching, pitch preparation, and feedback from judges often help founders sharpen their business models for the road ahead.

What Happens Next

If your startup is on the list, keep an eye on your inbox. Organizers will send time-sensitive next steps to selected companies in the coming days. If you applied but did not make the cut, an official update will also arrive by email. Because of the high volume of submissions, individual application inquiries will not receive a response.

For everyone else, the opportunity to see these startups live begins at Disrupt 2026. The event will take place October 13–15 at Moscone West in San Francisco. Ticket prices are scheduled to increase in September, so those planning to attend are encouraged to register early.

The top 20 finalists will be revealed live on Day 1 of Disrupt, setting the stage for two days of high-stakes pitches and live demonstrations. The 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 is proudly presented by Google for Startups and SAP, the program's premier sponsors.
